In the age of the Internet, a website is considered an essential outlet for your company.  Potential clients are able to view your facilities and the services you offer from the comfort of their own home.  More and more people now have Internet access - A survey carried out by the Office for National Statistics showed that in October 2005, 92% of UK households had Internet access.  This figure continues to increase. Having a professionally designed website makes a statement about your business.  It gives the potential customer the opportunity to view a wealth of information that would be otherwise expensive and troublesome to supply.  What information do I need to supply you with before you can start work? We will require you to answer some questions regarding the proposed content of your site.  We will also make some suggestions as to what features are generally essential, but it's always a good idea to have some plans of your own too.  We will go through a checklist with you (by mail, e-mail, telephone or a visit to your home*) and ensure that we have all of the information we need.  You will also be required to submit the relevant digital photographs which you would like included, or we can take these for you if you qualify for a free home visit. *Only available to clients in the Dumfries & Galloway area. How long will it take for my website to go live? Because every website is different, we cannot give a hard and fast figure for the construction time. We usually aim to have a website complete and launched on the Internet within two weeks of having all of the information. You will, of course, be welcome to view the progress as the site progresses. What kind of features can my website have? Again, because every website caters to a different audience and has different requirements, we offer different features for each site. Our six page all-inclusive package offers a bespoke design, which we can enhance with interactive features such as availability calendars, interactive maps and image gallery slideshows. We are always happy to work with our clients with regard to additional features - if you have seen something you like on another website let us know and we'll see what we can do. What is "web space" and do I need it? Every website on the Internet needs to be stored somewhere so that people can access it.  "Web space" is the term used for this storage.  No need to worry though - we offer one years free website hosting, and will also be able to accommodate your website further into the future for a small annual fee.  Alternatively if after 12 months you wish to move to a another hosting company we will assist you with the transition. What is a "domain name", and do I need one? Yes you do!  A "domain name" is your Internet address - for example, we are www.aspenwebdev.co.uk.  Try to choose a domain name which is relatively short, catchy and relevant to your business.  Again, no need to worry about the cost or hassle of registering your domain name, we'll take care of that for you.  (It is also worth noting that your domain name can have a big impact on your Google ratings) How will customers find my website? At Aspen Website Development we take steps to ensure that your website gets proper recognition in the popular search engines. By coding appropriate meta tags into your website, search engines are able to identify the purpose of your website and should place it high up in the rankings. Where appropriate, we will also try to get your website linked to from relevant Internet directories, which is a great way of getting traffic and boosting your search engine ratings. Many of our clients enjoy first page or even the top result for their favoured search terms. You can also help boost your visitor count by including your web address in any publications or advertisements that you put out. I'm interested - what do I do now? We currently offer a fixed price plan - £295 for an all-inclusive design and hosting service.  For more information about what this plan includes, please visit our services page.  Will I have to pay for my web space and domain name? As part of our design price (£295) we include one years free domain registration and web hosting.  After the twelve months free hosting expires, we can continue to host your website for an annual charge of £49.  This includes domain name renewal, and a range of administration features.  Alternatively, if you wish to find another hosting company, we will help you with the transition. Will there be any additional charges or hidden costs? No!  You pay the exact price stated for brochure websites and nothing extra. Please contact us to discuss the prices of content management system driven websites or e-commerce shopping carts. What payment options do you accept? We accept cash, cheque or payment by Paypal.    What technical support is available? If anything at all goes wrong with your website - we'll fix it.  Thanks to our careful coding, and the reliability of our servers, it's very unlikely that anything will go wrong at all.  But in the very unlikely event that anything does go wrong, we're on hand - and we keep a complete backup of your website so that we can restore it to its original state should there be any problem. We are also only a phone call away if you wish to discuss any revisions or updates to your website. What if I want to make changes to my website after it has been designed and released? Included in the fixed design price you are entitled to minor content changes and updates.  However, if you would like pages of your website completely remodelled, or additional pages installed, a quote will be given on request.
